North East Birth Pool Hire
As an experienced North East home birth doula & home birthing Mum myself I know what an exciting but also anxiety inducing part of birth preparation this can be (having been through it myself!). It can feel like there are so many different options; should you hire a pool, buy a pool, get one from Facebook?!
My doula support is all about nurturing, intimacy and personalised care and although YES, your pool hire could be seen as just another thing to 'tick off', a practical element of your birth prep... it can also feel like an exciting, nurturing and personalised part of your birth journey too.
I've put together 3 packages for you to choose from; no matter which package you choose you'll be getting personal service from an experienced home birth doula. My birth pool hire services are for the parents of the North East, and so only available for addresses across Gateshead, Newcastle, Tyneside, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. With my 'Doula Delivery' package I'll be the one personally delivering your pool, I'll show you all of the 'bits and bobs' (if you've ordered those) and you'll also have the opportunity to add on a 'power hour' with me - perfect if you'd like a listening ear, to chat things over with a home birth pro, or to have someone to run through your birth plans/ troubleshoot with.

Professional 'Birth Pool in a Box' mini sized pool (navy or white available), delivered straight to your door by DPD.

Perhaps you'd like to spend an hour with an experienced home birth doula ahead of your birthing time; some space to troubleshoot, run through your birth plans, or spend some time meditating or learning about biomechanics? This is the package for you!
As well as your chosen birth pool package, I'll be hand delivering your pool, showing you how to set it all up, and spending an hour with you to explore whatever you'd like to ahead of your baby's birth.

Having supported SO many water births over the years I see what an enormous difference the pool makes to labour; that instant 'ahhh' relief women have once they submerge themselves in the warming envelope and safety of the pool is just incredible. I'll often see labours really 'pick up' as well as feel so much more manageable once you're able to get into the pool.
I know for some women the desire to know they're going to be able to have a water birth (if it feels right on the day!) and not have that depend on availability, policy or the desires of hospital staff is one of the (many!) draws of having a home birth.

The Birth Pool in a Box Mini Pro
I absolutely LOVE this perfectly sized pool; having tried out several different brands and sized pools over the years I am firmly in love with this one!
My favourite features:
The cup holder! Super handy...!
The step/ seat - most women find themselves leaning over the side of the pool during labour for comfort - but the step/ seat in the BPIAB mini is great for getting in and out of the pool, for sitting on once baby is born so you don't worry about accidentally 'dipping' them in(!).
The size - having had both sized pools in the past I honestly think the 'regular' sized pool is TOO big for most families and most boilers! The mini pool uses 40% less water and still boasts plenty of space to move around, change positions and even include your partner if you'd like.
My pools are the professional version of the birth pools you as parents would be able to purchase online. What does that mean? Well, essentially they are made of much thicker and durable material, meaning they are far less likely to experience punctures or tears.
I have 2 colours of pool to choose from (depending on availability!) White/ Cream or the stunning midnight blue. These are both brand new colour ways from Birth Pool in a Box for 2025.

Simply fill out the form below; generally speaking it's a good idea to ensure your pool is booked and hired with me by 32 weeks pregnancy, simply because I only have a limited number of pools.

Lets get your pool booked
You can let me know your plans during our call and we'll make sure you get the right package for you. You'll then book your pool with a non refundable £50 deposit (balance due by week 35)
It's pool time!
Your professional birth pool will be delivered (either by Jessica or courier service) by week 37 of your pregnancy.
After your birth your pool will be collected from your home (within 48 hours, to be informed by you!) either by Jessica or courier.
